  船用含硼聚乙烯是是一种含有硼元素增强的高密度聚乙烯（HDPE），硼元素可屏蔽抵抗额外中子辐射的屏蔽作用。高密度聚乙烯是一种富氢材料，结合硼可以应用在核屏蔽领域中。富氢材料可以使中子衰减，硼则易于吸收热能化中子。具有抗辐射性能好，无活化产物，次级γ射线能量低，机械性能高，耐腐蚀，无毒无味，抗冲击，耐低温和化学稳定性。
